Butterfly Valves

Shortlist butterfly valves by the installation drawing and duty, then review the actual offset, seat and operator. Wafer, lug and flanged are connection choices; they do not specify every internal design. Use the series links for model-specific installation and RFQ checks, keeping any catalogue example tied to its named construction.

SERIES SELECTION COMPARISON

How should buyers choose a butterfly valve series?

Start with the piping drawing and shutoff or regulating duty, then check connection, offset geometry, seat and operator separately. Wafer, lug and flanged describe installation choices, not a complete butterfly valve rating. Confirm flange fit, disc clearance, material compatibility and pressure-temperature limits for the offered assembly; a high-performance label does not quantify control capability.

How do wafer, lug and flanged choices affect an RFQ?

Compare the mating flanges, drilling, facing, face-to-face length and disc clearance before choosing the butterfly connection. Check through-bolts or lug engagement on the assembly drawing. If a downstream flange may be removed, require written model-specific end-of-line conditions; neither a lug label nor the normal pipeline rating establishes approval for that arrangement.

What must an offset or high-performance offer confirm?

Request the actual section drawing to confirm offset geometry and seat construction rather than treating a high-performance label as a double-offset specification. For regulation, provide flow cases and pressure drop and request model flow characteristics, torque and actuator review. A triple-offset designation alone does not establish a quantified control-performance advantage.

Can you choose a seat from the connection type?

No. Wafer, lug or flanged mounting does not select the sealing pair. Compare soft-seat compatibility and the proposed metal sealing arrangement under the same fluid, temperature and differential pressure. Agree leakage acceptance, test direction and operating duty for the complete offered geometry; do not transfer one butterfly series' limits to another.

Use these decisions to compare existing catalogue constructions, not to assume interchangeability. Confirm medium suitability, size, pressure, temperature, materials and connections on the offered model’s datasheet and drawing.

TECHNICAL SELECTION

Select by service conditions

Use the sample catalogue figures as a starting point, not a universal rating. Confirm the exact model, size, pressure class, material, end connection and operating conditions on an approved datasheet before ordering.

01

Service medium

Describe medium composition, solids and phase; ask for body, disc, stem, seat and seal compatibility at the stated operating conditions.

02

Size and dimensions

Provide DN/NPS, pipe bore, face-to-face envelope and disc-opening clearance with the mating-flange drawing; do not select by nominal size alone.

03

Pressure and temperature

State line/design pressure, temperature and maximum differential pressure, plus switching or regulating duty. Keep wafer catalogue examples separate from other connections.

04

End connection

Identify wafer, lug or flanged mounting with flange drilling/facing and bolting requirements. Obtain any end-of-line approval for the exact offered assembly.

Sample catalogue reference

The figures describe the named catalogue construction. Size, pressure, temperature, material and end options are not interchangeable combinations; the maximum values do not apply simultaneously. Confirm the offered configuration, seat/seal compatibility, pressure–temperature limits and dimensions on its approved datasheet and drawing. The listed ranges summarize catalogue sizes, not every intermediate DN.

MANUFACTURER & CONNECTION SELECTION

Compare wafer, lug and flanged butterfly valves

KEHUA VALVE is Wenzhou Kehua Valve Co., Ltd., an industrial valve manufacturer based in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China. This butterfly valve catalogue separates connection styles and sealing constructions so importers, distributors and project buyers can compare an offered model against their piping specification.

Review the company and manufacturing information

Wafer butterfly valves

A compact body installed between mating pipe flanges. Confirm flange compatibility, disc clearance, seat arrangement and the installation drawing before selecting the offered model.

Lug butterfly valves

Check the body's lug drilling, bolt engagement and installation instructions. Before removing a downstream flange, obtain written confirmation of the exact model's end-of-line pressure, sealing direction and installation conditions; lug construction alone does not establish suitability.

Flanged butterfly valves

Match the mating flange standard, drilling, facing and face-to-face length to the piping layout. Confirm available space, disc clearance, seat construction and the pressure-temperature rating of the proposed model.

Select seats and materials separately

Wafer, lug and flanged describe connections, not the seat material or offset geometry. The catalogue includes carbon steel, stainless steel and resilient-seat options at family level; availability varies by series and model. Check the body, disc, stem, seat and seals against the medium composition, temperature and differential pressure.

Provide a comparable project RFQ

Send the medium, nominal size, design and operating pressure and temperature, differential pressure, mating flange standard, quantity and required actuation. For regulating service, include flow cases. Confirm ratings, dimensions, tests and documentation from the offered model's datasheet rather than the category name.

For a procurement shortlist, compare the wafer, lug and flanged connection checklist with the double- versus triple-offset selection guide. For inspection, agree shell and seat test acceptance separately from company qualifications; connection style alone does not prove shutoff performance.

Butterfly valve sourcing for importers and distributors

For a wholesale or repeat-order enquiry, send a bill of materials with quantities for each size and configuration instead of one total quantity. Identify wafer, lug or flanged bodies separately, and attach the piping class and duty data. Keep seat materials, actuation and inspection requirements identifiable by line item so technical differences are not hidden in a bulk price.

What needs confirmation in the offer?

Request the proposed model, drawing revision, technical deviations and document list. State the delivery destination and requested shipping terms, packing and marking requirements. Minimum order quantity, price and lead time must be confirmed in the actual quotation; no universal catalogue value is promised.

Which documents support the purchasing decision?

Agree the dimensional drawing, material schedule, inspection plan and traceable test reports for the supplied valve. Confirm any destination-specific requirement and its applicable evidence before ordering; a company certificate is not approval for every valve configuration or country.

Use the fill-in industrial valve RFQ checklist, or prepare a butterfly valve enquiry. The website prepares an email draft; submitting it here does not confirm delivery to KEHUA.
