Use the gate valve catalogue to define isolation duty and shortlist body, bonnet and stem features independently. Cast or forged construction, pressure-seal bonnets, stem travel and low-temperature requirements can overlap; the series names are not mutually exclusive pressure grades. Follow each series link for the drawing and quotation checks relevant to your installation.

SERIES SELECTION COMPARISON

How should buyers shortlist gate valve construction?

Start with full-open or full-closed isolation duty, then review body manufacture, bonnet joint, stem movement and any low-temperature requirement independently. These gate valve features can overlap; the series names are not mutually exclusive pressure grades. Confirm the required combination, materials, bore, ends and installation envelope on one offered drawing rather than assuming every combination is available.

Does cast or forged construction determine the rating?

No. Cast or forged identifies body manufacture, not the complete gate valve pressure rating or a guaranteed full-bore passage. Compare the actual casting or forging grade, wedge and seat trim, bore and pipe ends against the piping specification. Request the offered dimensions and configuration-specific pressure-temperature limits before approving the order.

Are pressure sealing and cold-service extensions alternatives?

They address different requirements. A pressure-seal bonnet needs review of its joint, assembly, thermal cycles and maintenance access. A low-temperature extension needs the specified fluid phase, minimum temperature, orientation and test scope. Review each required feature on the complete offered gate valve; neither description substitutes for a model-specific service rating.

How should you compare rising and non-rising stems?

Compare the rising stem's fully open height and exposed-stem protection with the non-rising arrangement's position indication and stem-nut maintenance. Request open, closed and operator envelopes for the actual installation. A non-rising stem does not eliminate handwheel, gearbox, actuator or maintenance-space requirements, and neither arrangement identifies the body's pressure-temperature limits.

Use these decisions to compare existing catalogue constructions, not to assume interchangeability. Confirm medium suitability, size, pressure, temperature, materials and connections on the offered model’s datasheet and drawing.

TECHNICAL SELECTION

Select by service conditions

Use the sample catalogue figures as a starting point, not a universal rating. Confirm the exact model, size, pressure class, material, end connection and operating conditions on an approved datasheet before ordering.

01

Service medium

Define full-open/full-closed isolation duty with medium, solids and corrosion concerns. Sustained throttling requires separate engineering review of the offered model.

02

Size and dimensions

Specify DN/NPS, bore, face-to-face length, full stem travel and maintenance access; review the actual end and assembly drawings.

03

Pressure and temperature

Give normal/design pressure and temperature, maximum differential pressure and startup/shutdown conditions. State any minimum-temperature qualification separately.

04

End connection

Identify flange facing/drilling, weld or other offered end preparation and the piping standard. Body, bonnet and stem labels do not determine the mating interface.

Sample catalogue reference

The figures describe the named catalogue construction. Size, pressure, temperature, material and end options are not interchangeable combinations; the maximum values do not apply simultaneously. Confirm the offered configuration, seat/seal compatibility, pressure–temperature limits and dimensions on its approved datasheet and drawing. The listed ranges summarize catalogue sizes, not every intermediate DN.

GATE VALVE MANUFACTURER & PROJECT SELECTION

Compare body, bonnet and stem choices before ordering a gate valve

KEHUA VALVE is Wenzhou Kehua Valve Co., Ltd., an industrial valve manufacturer in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China. This catalogue brings together cast steel, forged steel, pressure seal, rising stem, non-rising stem and cryogenic or extended-bonnet gate valve series for project isolation review. These labels describe different construction features; they are not six mutually exclusive configurations.

Review the KEHUA valve manufacturer profile

Cast steel or forged steel body

Compare the required body and trim materials, nominal size and actual flow bore. Cast and forged describe manufacture of the body; confirm the complete valve drawing and pressure–temperature limits for the quoted configuration.

Bonnet joint and maintenance access

Specify the required bonnet construction separately from body material. For a pressure seal gate valve, review the bonnet seal, assembly procedure, startup and shutdown conditions, and inspection access; the bonnet name alone does not establish a pressure class.

Stem travel and installation clearance

Compare rising and non-rising stem arrangements against the available operating envelope. Request fully open and closed dimensions, position indication and maintenance access. A non-rising stem still requires verification of the actual opening indication and clearance.

For a cryogenic or extended-bonnet gate valve, also confirm the minimum design temperature, extension dimensions, material suitability and required test scope. Define full-open or full-closed isolation duty; sustained throttling needs a separate review of the offered model and operating conditions.

Cryogenic and extended-bonnet gate valves

What should a gate valve RFQ include?

Provide the fluid and solids content, design and operating pressure and temperature, maximum differential pressure, nominal size and required bore, end-connection standard, bonnet and stem arrangement, quantity and inspection requirements. Request the offered model's drawing, materials and agreed shell and seat test conditions so that quotations can be compared on the same basis.

How buyers usually specify this family
Cast steel wedge gate valve - Gate Valves
API 600Pipeline isolation

Cast steel wedge gate valve

A wedge gate moves across the flow passage to isolate the line. Cast steel identifies body manufacture; the wedge, bonnet joint and stem arrangement are separate choices. Define full-open or full-closed service before specifying the trim.

Forged steel gate valve - Gate Valves
API 602High pressure

Forged steel gate valve

A forged gate valve uses a forged pressure-containing body. Nominal size, actual bore and end preparation remain model-specific. A compact forged design should not automatically be described as full bore.

Pressure seal gate valve - Gate Valves

Pressure seal gate valve

Pressure seal identifies the bonnet-joint sealing arrangement. Body manufacturing method, gate design and stem travel remain separate specifications. Review assembly and seal behavior through startup, normal operation and shutdown.

Rising stem gate valve - Gate Valves
API 600Visual indication

Rising stem gate valve

A rising-stem arrangement changes the external stem position during operation. Check the full-open height and protection of the exposed stem against the installed layout, not just the closed-valve dimensions.

Rising stem

Request this series
Non-rising stem gate valve - Gate Valves
API 600Space constrained

Non-rising stem gate valve

A non-rising stem avoids external stem travel during operation. It does not remove the need for position indication, stem-nut maintenance or operator clearance; establish these requirements on the offered assembly drawing.

Non-rising stem

Cryogenic or extended-bonnet gate valve - Gate Valves
API 600Low temperature

Cryogenic or extended-bonnet gate valve

An extended bonnet is one part of a low-temperature gate valve specification. The extension, materials, stem sealing and required cold tests must be reviewed together for the stated minimum temperature and installation orientation.

How buyers usually specify this family

Prepare a gate valve schedule with the required body/trim, bonnet, stem arrangement, bore, ends and operation identified by line item. Include quantities, destination, requested date, drawing approvals and inspection records. Ask suppliers to confirm the proposed configuration and disclose deviations rather than price an unspecified family range. Use the line-item RFQ checklist and quality-document review to define the requested submission package. Unknown values can remain open for technical confirmation.
