Butterfly Valves
Wafer butterfly valve
KEHUA's wafer butterfly valve series is manufactured by Wenzhou Kehua Valve Co., Ltd. in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China. A wafer body fits between mating pipeline flanges for compact isolation. The connection describes the installation arrangement; it does not establish the disc offset, seat construction or pressure-temperature limits of the offered model.

WAFER BUTTERFLY VALVE PROCUREMENT
How do you specify a wafer butterfly valve?
For a wafer butterfly valve RFQ, provide the mating flange standard, drilling, facing, pipe bore and face-to-face envelope so disc clearance and through-bolt fit can be checked. Specify the fluid, differential pressure, seat materials and leakage acceptance separately. A wafer connection does not establish offset geometry, service limits or end-of-line suitability.
Related procurement checks: lug butterfly valves; valve body material guide; Prepare flange-fit and duty data for the RFQ.
Compare wafer, lug and flanged connections- State the fluid, solids, isolation duty, normal and design temperature, line pressure and maximum differential pressure, with units. Leave unknown values for technical review.
- Provide DN or NPS, mating flange standard, drilling and facing, pipe bore and face-to-face envelope. Ask for confirmation of disc clearance and the model-specific assembly instructions.
- Specify the required body, disc, seat and seal materials separately. Ask the supplier to confirm shutoff direction, leakage acceptance and operating torque for the offered configuration.
- Check the through-bolt arrangement, bolt lengths and installation space against the valve and flange drawings. Do not infer end-of-line suitability from a wafer connection; obtain written approval for that configuration if required.
- State manual, geared or actuated operation and the required operating time and supply for review. For a comparable quotation, include quantity, delivery destination and requested date, plus the drawing, inspection and material-document requirements. Ask the quotation to identify unresolved items and deviations; an RFQ date is not a promised lead time.
When should you compare a different butterfly connection?
Start from the installation drawing, not a connection keyword alone. Compare these alternatives when flange removal, mounting space or connection dimensions differ. A change of connection does not establish a different seat material, offset geometry or pressure-temperature rating.
- Lug butterfly valves
Compare lug and bolt engagement details; any downstream flange removal requires written model-specific end-of-line approval.
- Flanged butterfly valves
Compare integral end flanges, drilling, facing and face-to-face length against the piping specification.
For supplier approval, separate the shell and seat test requirements from the company qualification records. Agree the model drawing, pressure-temperature limits, material records and acceptance criteria for the actual valve; a company certificate is not a test report for every configuration.
