Ball Valves
Fully welded ball valve
A fully welded ball valve uses a welded body to reduce sealing interfaces at detachable body joints. Gas, oil or district-heating pipeline isolation may be reviewed for the offered configuration; medium compatibility and operating limits remain model-specific. Fully welded describes the body, not necessarily butt-weld pipe connections, and does not guarantee absence of leakage at every seal.
About the fully welded ball valve manufacturerSource: Kehua ball-valve catalogue, printed pages 10 and 16 (trunnion ball valves). It has no separate fully welded specification. These standards, materials and ranges are selection references, not supplied-model commitments or a guarantee of every size/class combination. Confirm the fully welded model's ratings, seats, temperature, ends and dimensions on its dedicated datasheet and drawing before quotation.
Fully welded ball valves: construction and procurement checks
- Duty: provide medium composition, normal/design pressure and temperature, maximum closed-valve differential pressure and cycling. Buried use needs separate review of coating, stem extension and operating access.
- Dimensions and connections: confirm DN or NPS, full or reduced bore, offered flanged or butt-weld ends, face-to-face length, mating-pipe dimensions and installation clearance.
- Seals and materials: confirm floating or trunnion support, body and trim materials, seats, packing, gaskets and cavity-pressure relief. Bidirectional sealing, DBB and DIB require separate confirmation.
- Actuation and maintenance: review manual, pneumatic or electric operation against torque and site conditions. A welded body normally cannot be opened like a bolted split body; confirm permitted servicing and spares.
- Manufacturing and acceptance: agree standards and editions, welding procedures, nondestructive examination, pressure and seat testing, and records. Follow the manufacturer's installation-welding limits to protect seals.
SERIES SELECTION
Does a fully welded body specify the pipe-end connection?
No. A fully welded ball valve body and its pipe-end connection are separate procurement requirements. Confirm the offered pipe ends, bore, dimensions and support arrangement, then define body-weld inspection and the maintenance strategy. If buried installation is requested, obtain separate confirmation of coating, extension and access requirements rather than assuming they are included.
Related procurement checks: Specify the pipe-end connection separately.
Compare construction choices in this valve family- Confirm the actual pipe ends, bore, dimensions and support arrangement.
- Define body-weld inspection and the project maintenance strategy.
- If buried installation is requested, separately confirm coating, extension and access requirements.
Fully welded ball valve buying resources
Review material suitability and prepare the duty, connection and inspection inputs for an RFQ. These general guides do not replace a fully welded model's dedicated datasheet or welding procedure review.
- Industrial valve materials: WCB, LCB, CF8M and duplex steel
Compare WCB, LCB, CF8M and duplex valve bodies with a material selection table and RFQ checklist covering fluid, temperature, corrosion and material records.
- How to prepare an industrial valve RFQ that can be reviewed quickly
Prepare an industrial valve RFQ with a copyable fill-in checklist, quotation deviation table and checks for service data, materials, connections, actuation and documents.
- Valve End Connections: Flanged vs Butt Weld, Socket Weld & Threaded
Compare flanged, butt-weld, socket-weld and threaded valve connections. Check pipe interfaces, maintenance access and project standards with a practical RFQ checklist.
- Valve Pressure Testing: Shell vs Seat Tests & Buyer Checklist
Understand shell and seat leakage tests, review API 598 or ISO 5208 requirements, and specify an auditable valve pressure-test report before ordering.
