Check Valves
Dual-plate check valve
KEHUA lists a dual plate check valve series with two pivoting closure plates. Review the hinge, spring and seat arrangement of the offered model. Dual plate describes the closing mechanism; it does not, by itself, specify a wafer connection or prove non-slam performance.

DUAL PLATE CHECK VALVE PROCUREMENT
Is a dual plate check valve the same as a wafer check valve?
No. Dual plate identifies the internal closure mechanism; wafer identifies a body installed between mating flanges. A quotation must confirm both. When the proposed model is a wafer design, check the open-plate envelope against the actual pipe bore and nearby fittings before accepting the installation drawing.
- Confirm mating flange standard and facing, face-to-face length, gasket position, bolt arrangement and available space for plate travel. Identify any reducer or elbow close to the valve.
- Request plate, hinge-pin, spring and seat materials with their service limits; establish the permitted installation and pin orientation from the model instructions.
- Provide minimum and normal flow, reverse-flow conditions and the pump-trip sequence. Request pressure-loss and closing-response evidence for the selected configuration; spring assistance is not a universal no-slam guarantee.
- Agree shell and seat test conditions, leakage acceptance and required traceability records. Confirm whether internal maintenance requires removing the valve from the line.
SERIES SELECTION
What should you specify separately in a dual-plate check valve RFQ?
Specify the closing mechanism and installation arrangement separately: dual plate identifies the closing mechanism, while wafer describes an installation arrangement. Confirm plate, hinge and spring details, mating dimensions and internal clearance on the offered drawing. Provide reversal or pump-trip conditions for closing-response review; neither term alone proves non-slam performance.

- Check connection dimensions and internal clearance against the mating pipe.
- Provide flow reversal or pump-trip conditions for closing-response review; do not assume no-slam performance.
- Provide flow range, fluid properties, pressure, temperature, installation orientation and available pump-trip/reversal information. Include flange or other quoted connection details, pipe bore, opening clearance, quantity, destination and requested date. Ask for plate/hinge/spring and material details, agreed seat tests and any limitations of the closing-response assessment.
